Family Pictures at Ault Park - Cincinnati Family Photographer

Last week I photographed the U Family at Ault Park here in Cincinnati. Ault Park is one of my favorite parks to photograph. The flowers, the greenery, the cascade fountain and the pavilion are just gorgeous and make a great background for photos.

The U Family was so relaxed and easy to photograph. I loved the outfit they chose for their daughter. Who knew that brown and rainbows go together but it works!

Color or B/W?

Color or B/W? That’s not usually a question for me as I give my clients both versions of a picture BUT just for fun… let’s play color or b/w?

I love this family session! The leaves are this vibrant yellow and I am just in love with these colors. For me it was a no brainer… of course I like the color versions better. Who doesn’t love fall colors? Looking at the b/w pictures though makes me swoon too. The contrast is so beautiful and it just feels so timeless. It is almost as if the yellow was taking the attention of the subjects… like the yellows are the highlights of the pictures. But with the b/w versions, the little girl becomes the main subject again. Does that make sense? What do you think? Color or b/w? Or does it depend on the picture?

Which version would you hang in your living room? I can’t believe I am saying this but I would frame the black and white version!

Day One of Christmas Minis

I look forward to my Christmas Minis every year! So many families come to see me and they are so nicely dressed up and have their best smiles on. I hosted these minis at the Cincinnati Nature Center, specifically at the Krippendorf Lodge. The Lodge gives the pictures such a nice touch without being the center of attention.

We had to move her one year session from Washington Park indoors due to weather but it turned out to be perfect! And I love the continuity from her Newborn session.

The session basically consisted in Rylan playing and snuggling with her parents and I did my thing... Honestly it doesn't get easier and if you have a home with great natural light I highly recommend a session in your home.
